Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME)
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) is the branch of engineering that involves the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting the issued faced in aircraft. AME is an international program regulated by Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India. No aircraft can fly without its safety certification by an appropriately License holder AME. Thus an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer shoulders the responsibility of aircraft safety and the personnel onboard on behalf of Govt. of India.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is a 4 years License program tentatively in which candidate has to undergo 2 years regular academic program conducted by the DGCA approved AME institutes and 2 years training in Airline or MRO Industries. In the academic program student has to complete their module papers conducted by DGCA.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is divided in following streams.
- Mechanical (A & B1)
- Aeroplane & Power Plant (A1, A2, B1.1 & B1.2)
- Helicopter & Power Plant (A3, A4, B1.3 & B1.4)
- Avionics (B2)

Candidate seeking admission in AME Course has to fulfill these eligibilities
Candidate must have either passed 10+2 or appearing in 2025 with PCM stream.
A candidate possessing three years Diploma in any stream recognized by Central / State Govt. is also eligible for admission in AME.
All candidates who are eligible for admission in B. Tech. Courses are also eligible for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) Course.
Candidate age must be between 16 to 28 years at the time of admission.
Candidate should qualify AME CET 2025.

Candidate seeking for admission in AME should apply in AME CET 2025. It is a national level Common Entrance Test to offer admission in AME, Aerospace Engineering, and Aeronautical Engineering in approved institutes, colleges & universities in India. The candidates who desire to be an AME have to fulfill the following eligibility
Candidate must pass 10+2 with a non-medical stream or equivalent AICTE approved 3 years engineering diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Aeronautical, Mechanical & Instrumentation or any higher qualification in science with Physics and Mathematics at the time of admission.
A candidate who is eligible for admission in B Tech Courses is also eligible for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course. Candidate age can be between 16 to 28 years at the time of admission.
The candidate must not have color blindness or any physical disabilities.
